VitaAlert is a pilot-stage, AI-assisted outbreak intelligence platform built for the places where outbreaks are hardest to fight — low-connectivity, low-resource, high-stakes. We're a small international team turning field reports into faster, smarter epidemic response. We're looking for a handful of committed people — and partner organisations across Africa and beyond — to help us build, connect, and deploy it.
VitaAlert isn't a concept on paper. It's a working pilot with real, clickable tools — an offline-first field reporting flow, an AI-assisted symptom analyzer for frontline triage, an outbreak intelligence stream with a live situation brief, and an operations dashboard with contact-network and cross-border views. It's early and evolving, and we're honest about that — but it's real enough that you can try it before you decide to join.
Our mission is simple: help responders move faster than the outbreak. From a single community-health-worker phone report to coordinated response, in days rather than weeks — built mobile-first, AI-augmented, and resilient where the network isn't.
We believe in being transparent, especially with people whose work we admire. Contributor roles are currently voluntary while our funding is pending. Our intention is to transition key contributors into paid roles as funding is secured — and fundraising is active, not aspirational.
VitaAlert operates as an NGO collaboration with the support of a registered U.S. 501(c)(3) fiscal host, which gives our funding and partnerships a credible institutional footing. If a mission you can shape from the ground floor appeals to you more than a job description, this is that.
